 ATV tire size question? The tires on my ATV are already oversized but I am wondering what other sizes I can put on it since my options for this size are limited. I wouldnt want to go much smaller! Current size is 25 X 12-9 Thanks in advance! I certainly dont want any wider, I just want someone to explain what the numbers mean so I'll know what fits my rim. ok 25" is how tall the tire is .. from the ground to the top of the tire..... its only a 250 if your year is correct i personaly hate tires that big on a quad under 400ccs sure it will get through mud but think about all the acceleration, ability to do a donut or throw the back end out the way i started hating this huge tire thing was i had a friend with a big bear 350 but .. if your only using it like a tractor 25s are ok lol seriously its not my quad this is just my opinion but ok back to the point .. you have 9" rims on your atv ... rear rims .. the front rims should be .. 10" im assuming so the middle number is 12 on your current tire .. the smallest width you could go for thoes rims is probably around 8" ..and its unlikely ur going to find tires much wider then the ones u have so... and the 25 .. the hight .. so you can go as short or tall as u want as long as its a tire for a 9 inch rim and you can go as wide or skinny as you want .. as long as its for a 9 inch rim and its not tooo skinny for your rim |
