Converting Motocross bike to become street legal (Virginia)?
I own a dirtbike that I would like to make street legal. I will be converting it to a Super Moto. I know I'll need things like mirrors, signals, headlights, etc. But I'm not sure what I need to do (paper work wise) to do it. I figured titling, registering, inspecting it, but what is the process of this?
What are the requirements for the bike to become street legal?
What does the state need for me to ride it legally?
The bike is a 2002 Yamaha YZF426, full Motocross setup.
Quote: "Once you add the mirrors, lights etc you need to take to your local DMV and show them so bike can be registered as street legal."
What is the "etc."? Some people say you must have a battery backup, with a recharging system. Also is there dB requirements? Is there a page somewhere, where I can get this info?
After I get the bike to ready, is all I have to do it take it to the DMV? What about titling? Insurence? etc?
Once you add the mirrors, lights etc you need to take to your local DMV and show them so bike can be registered as street legal.
